February Resolutions

Happy Febuary! It's time for my monthly check-up and new resolutions (albeit I'm a few days late). Last month, due to my reading of The Happiness Project, I was inspired to do my own monthly resolutions to keep myself more on track with cultivating self-improvement in all shapes.

JANUARY RECAP:
exercising kindness - let me tell you, this was HARD. I believe the day after I posted this, we had a cubicle shuffle at work and the very last person I wanted to be near, ended up as one of my cubemates. oh, IRONY IS A WRETCHED WENCH. Instead of issuing my standard smart-ass comebacks, I've mastered the art of eye-rolling. So many days, the urge to shut this person up with biting sarcasm was so tangible I could've had a plate of it for lunch. But I did have some days where I was just like, 'listen I need some silence for the morning (or entire day), please respect that' and the offending cubemate actually was considerate of that request. Needless to say, I'm taking this one day-by-day.

increasing my natural energy - I was very successful at this thanks to zumba, green smoothies & B vitamins! I'm still attached to having a cup of coffee in the morning but I've been drinking green smoothies more and more thanks to this recipe that I found while clicking through healthy eating blogs. (the pineapple really makes the smoothie taste great!) I got turned onto B vitamins thanks to my mom who has become one of Dr.Oz's newest students. I've found that taking the vitamin reduces my urge to crash during the day, so definite win.

indulging in a little vanity - no red lipstick just yet but I did stumble upon some other beauty items that have made a difference in my life: clinique's dark spot corrector and 7 day scrub cream rinse-off formula. The dark spot corrector really works! You have to give it a solid month of twice daily use in order to see results (although my mom swears she saw a difference in my skin the second week). The scrub cream is great to use especially if you've spent the day in makeup. using the cream will remove every stitch of makeup. I PROMISE.

For Feburary, I'll be working on:

>finding that damn red lipstick. this is the month of love so I need to find a hot red shade to enhance the smoochiness. (even though I'm the very epitome of single and, sadly, have no one to even consider smooching) (I'm thinking ahead!)

>volunteering. I'm so very blessed and it's time to be more giving of my time instead of my checkbook. simple as that.

>making some use out of iMovie. I've had my lovely macbook for almost two years now and the amount of time that I've spent using iMovie is a little sad. Hopefully, I'll be able to incorporate more vlogs on this here corner of the Internets. That being said, anyone know of any useful tutorials?

Ok February? let's do this.

YAY for red lips! I need to be better about wearing my lipstick too. I use the Fresh lipstain now and love it but a little more formal lip is nice :)
